Dancehall heavyweight Vybz Kartel is giving rising artiste Shenequa the ultimate co-sign by officially signing her with GreedyLion / Vybz Kartel Muzik, making her the first female artist signed to the label.
Giving fans another reason to pay attention, Kartel has revealed that collaborations with his newest signee could be on the horizon, a major milestone for the Jamaican singer and songwriter, who is already beginning to make her presence felt within the Dancehall space.
Speaking on the occasion, Kartel shared, “Shenequa is entering a new chapter. With the backing, visibility and creative energy, the team and I will be taking her career to another level, so stay tuned,”. Shenequa is wasting no time by capitalizing on her newfound attention by her latest single, “My Show,” accompanied by a brand-new visual.
For Shenequa, music has always been about more than simply releasing songs. “Music, to me, is expressing how you feel on a beat. It’s never wrong or right. It’s an art, so just create your masterpiece and do it beautifully,” she explains. Her growing catalogue includes new single “My Show” and a ballad, “Emotionally Scarred”.
