Globally renowned country music icon Dolly Parton has died. The news was announced today by her head of security and nephew Bryan Seaver via video on Parton's Instagram, her choice, according to Seaver.
Dolly Parton was 80 years old. News of her death comes a year after her husband Carl Parton's death in March 2025
Parton's many accolades include being the first artiste to chart #1 with the same song, I Will Always Love You, in 1974 and 1982. The singer has had over 24 titles reach No. 1 on the Billboard Country charts, winning numerous Grammy Awards, Country Music Association Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards and American Music Awards.
