Hollywood actress Hayden Panettiere has died at the age of 36, after she was found unresponsive at her home in Greenville, South Carolina, on Sunday.
According to reports, a friend called 911 around 1:51 p.m., saying Panettiere was in cardiac arrest. First responders attempted to revive her, but she was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m.
Reports have pointed to a possible overdose, but authorities have not confirmed a cause of death. An autopsy was completed Monday and found no signs of trauma, while police say there is no indication of foul play. The investigation remains ongoing.
Panettiere was a familiar face on screen from childhood, later becoming a household name through TV shows Heroes and Nashville, while also famously appearing in films including Remember the Titans the Scream franchise and Bring It On All or Nothing.
She leaves behind her 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, whom she shared with former heavyweight boxer Wladimir Klitschko.
Months before her death, Panettiere released her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, where she opened up about growing up as a Hollywood star, her struggles with addiction and postpartum depression, and the pressures that came with being in the spotlight from such a young age.
