Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale’s ShattaFest in the United Kingdom was cancelled after police shut down the event over serious safety concerns linked to overcrowding.
Organisers said the decision followed reports of a serious incident outside the venue and expressed sympathy for those affected.
Reports said more than 100,000 people attended the festival, exceeding the approved capacity at Copthall Playing Fields in London.
Despite the cancellation, fans praised Shatta Wale’s popularity and called for a larger concert venue in the future.
