Made4Goal Showcase Creates Pathway for Young Football Talent

Share

Some of Jamaica's brightest young footballers had the opportunity to impress international scouts and club representatives over the weekend during the inaugural Made4Goal Championship Showcase at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex on July 25.

The football match featured the Jamaica Premier League Under-23 Stars taking on the High School Under-19 All-Stars in a match-up designed to expose their emerging talent to professional opportunities.

Made4Goal Championship Technical Consultant, Andrew Edwards explained that the championships emphasises branding for the young All-Stars as scouts are always on the lookout for a variety of skills, from defending to tackling.

As part of the Made4Goal initiative, sponsors Pepsi-Cola Jamaica announced a J$400,000 investment to support athlete development, including funding for Cavalier FC's nutrition and training programme and an Athlete Voice and Leadership Training Programme for standout players.
