A biopic about hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg is set to hit U.S. theatres on August 6, 2027.
The film, titled “Snoop,” will star Outer Banks actor Jonathan Daviss as the rapper, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, with Craig Brewer serving as director.
Universal Pictures says the R-rated movie will tell the definitive story of Snoop Dogg’s life, though it has not revealed whether the film will cover his full career or focus on a specific period.
Snoop Dogg has remained one of hip-hop’s biggest names, with 45 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, including chart-toppers such as “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and “I Wanna Love You” with Akon.
