As Jamaicans prepare to celebrate Emancipation and Independence, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security is reminding the public of this year's public holiday arrangements.
The Ministry says Emancipation Day 2026 will be observed on Saturday, August 1, in accordance with the Holidays (Public General) Act.
It is also reminding the public that Independence Day will be observed on Thursday, August 6.
The Ministry is also reminding the public that Friday, August 7, will be a normal working day.
