The National Works Agency (NWA) says emergency repairs have temporarily restored a collapsed section of the Mineral Heights to Lionel Town main road in Clarendon.
The more than six-metre-wide, four-metre-deep hole near Vere Technical High School had reduced the roadway to single-lane traffic before crews rebuilt the embankment.
The NWA is urging motorists to proceed with caution as permanent repairs are still pending.
Engineers are also investigating the cause of the road failure, noting there is no known drainage system in the area.
