The European Commission has fined online marketplace AliExpress approximately US $640 million for failing to meet its responsibilities under the Digital Services Act.
The Commission said the company did not properly address risks linked to illegal, unsafe, and counterfeit products sold on its platform.
AliExpress has until October 20, 2026 to submit a plan showing how it will address the issues.
Failure to comply could result in additional financial penalties.
