Kylian Mbappé has condemned Paraguayan senator Celesteh Amarilla over racist remarks made after France's World Cup victory over Paraguay.
Mbappé called the comments "despicable" and said they dishonoured Paraguay's players and promoted hatred.
The French Football Federation said it will pursue criminal action, describing the remarks as "utterly abhorrent and unacceptable."
The incident follows similar racist comments by former Paraguay goalkeeper José Luis Chilavert, which were also widely condemned.
