The music industry is mourning the loss of music titan Clive Davis.
The legendary music executive, who had over a six-decade-long relationship with music, died at the age of 94 following a recent hospitalisation for an upper respiratory infection.
In a statement released on social media, his family remembered the legendary executive as both a visionary who helped shape modern music and a devoted father and grandfather.
The heartfelt statement stated: "To the world, our father was the iconic music legend whose vision, instincts, and relentless pursuit of excellence shaped the soundtrack of countless lives... To his family, Clive was Dad and Granddaddy, the steady presence at the center of our lives."
A former head of Colombia and Arista Records, Davis played a pivotal role in the success of artistes including Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Christina Aguilera, Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, Carlos Santana, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson, and many more, cementing his legacy as one of the most influential figures in the industry.
Davis won five Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a non-performer in 2000.
Condolences to the friends and family.
