Jamaican cricketer Rovman Powell has become the West Indies’ all-time leading T20 International run scorer, surpassing former wicketkeeper-batsman Nicholas Pooran with a career tally of 2,314 runs.
Powell reached the milestone during the second T20 against Sri Lanka national cricket team at Sabina Park, scoring 43 off 26 balls.
He is the first West Indian to cross the 2,300-run mark in T20 Internationals.
Powell will next captain the Jamaica Kingsmen in the Caribbean Premier League, while the West Indies prepare for a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka beginning June 25 in Antigua.
