Popstar Katy Perry helped open the World Cup in Los Angeles with a performance during the tournament's opening ceremony.
The pop star was later seen celebrating with boyfriend former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau at the USA-Paraguay match.
The appearance drew attention after Trudeau skipped Canada’s opening World Cup game in Toronto to attend the event.
He later defended the decision, saying “supportive boyfriend duties call” while insisting he is still backing Canada.
