The St Catherine Health Department is stepping up food safety enforcement with a planned inspection drive targeting food establishments in Hellshire, Portmore.
Deputy Chief Public Health Inspector Denese Douglas said the initiative will assess hygiene standards and ensure compliance with licensing and health regulations.
She noted that similar inspections will be extended to other parts of Portmore and Spanish Town in the coming months to improve public health standards.
The department is also continuing vector-control efforts, including mosquito surveillance and dengue prevention activities across the parish.
