Justice Minister Delroy Chuck has urged Jamaicans to cooperate with police. He said officers can use reasonable force, including lethal force in extreme cases, to arrest suspects.
He explained that the law allows force to stop fleeing suspects if necessary. He also warned against resisting arrest or obstructing police duties.
Chuck said complaints about police actions should go to court, not be settled through confrontation.
His comments come amid concerns over fatal police shootings, including the death of Latoya “Buju” Bulgin, which is under investigation by Independent Commission of Investigations.
