Southampton FC Found Guilty in Rival Spying Scandal

Southampton FC have been found guilty of a “top-down” spying operation on rival teams, authorised by head coach Tonda Eckert.

An independent commission said the club used junior staff to secretly observe opponents’ training sessions, severely breaching competition integrity rules.

Southampton admitted spying on multiple Championship rivals and were expelled from the play-offs.

They were also given a four-point deduction for next season after their appeal was rejected.
