According to Deadline, a 26-year-old man has been detained in Singapore in connection with the leak of the Paramount+ film The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender.
Authorities say he allegedly gained unauthorised remote access to a server and downloaded the unreleased film. If found guilty, he could face up to seven years in prison, a fine of up to 50,000 US dollars — or both.
The situation escalated last week when clips from the film began circulating on X, with one user claiming the project was accidentally emailed internally and even threatening to leak the full movie.
Despite copyright takedowns, the footage quickly spread across the platform.
The film, which was initially set for a theatrical release before being moved to streaming on Paramount+, has already faced backlash — and the leak has only added to the frustration.
Animator Julia Schoel, who worked on the project, spoke out online, expressing disappointment that years of work were being shared prematurely and without context.
The film is currently slated to premiere on Paramount+ on October 9, 2026.
