Dancehall superstar Mavado is set to receive a Special Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2026 International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) in recognition of his global musical legacy.
The 43rd annual ceremony will take place on May 17, 2026, at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center in South Florida. The event serves as a major gathering for international fans and industry professionals, featuring a red carpet starting at 6:00 PM followed by the main awards showcase at 7:30 PM.
Under the theme "Jamaica Rise," this year's awards focus on the industry's resilience and support for rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Melissa. The gala will highlight South Florida’s prominence as a center for Caribbean culture through live performances and tributes to icons like Mavado and Burning Spear.
