The life and legacy of Peter Tosh will be celebrated this October in honor of what would have been his 80th birthday.

The Peter Tosh Foundation has introduced a new initiative called "Peter Tosh Town," aimed at addressing various inequalities in Tosh's hometown of Belmont-Bluefields, Westmoreland.

Niambe Tosh, founder of the organization, highlights that renaming the area "Peter Tosh Town" is a meaningful tribute to her father's legacy, ensuring his presence continues to be felt in the community that greatly influenced him.

October's celebrations will include the Peter Tosh Foundation Benefit Gala in collaboration with the Peter Tosh Museum, the Tosh Legacy Talk with the University of the West Indies, Peter Tosh Youth Day at Belmont Academy, the reopening of the Memorial Garden in Westmoreland, and the debut of Tosh Fest, an annual concert featuring top reggae and cultural artists.

Peter Tosh, a reggae musician, was a key member of the Wailers, alongside Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer, before becoming a successful solo artist.
