Shanoya Douglas set a new National Under 20 200 metres record at the 53rd Carifta Games, which concluded on Sunday in Grenada. Her time now ranks as the 10th fastest ever, on the Jamaican women’s list.
The ISSA Boys and Girls’ Championships double gold medallist, broke her own national junior record, while dominating the Under 20 200 metres, claiming gold in 22.11 seconds.
The Holland High School student led a Jamaican one two finish in the event, with Natrese East taking silver in 23.39 seconds.
For her outstanding performance, Douglas was later awarded the Austin Sealy Trophy, as the Games’ most outstanding athlete.
