A man died after falling through a damaged bridge in Easington, St Thomas, around 10:00 a.m.
The bridge was reportedly compromised by heavy rains from Hurricane Melissa last October.
He was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Minister of works Robert Nesta Morgan expressed condolences and urged the public to obey safety warnings.
The bridge had been closed by the National Works Agency and is slated for repair under a national programme.
