Ten players from Mount Pleasant FA have been denied visas to enter the United States ahead of tomorrow’s CONCACAF Champions Cup clash against LA Galaxy.
Mount Pleasant, winners of the 2025 CONCACAF Caribbean Cup, are set to make their Champions Cup debut at Dignity Health Sports Park in California.
The club has been forced to include several academy players in its travelling squad.
Seven members of the Mount Pleasant team are from Haiti. In June 2025, United States President Donald Trump announced a partial travel ban affecting Haitian nationals.
Exemptions exist for major events such as the FIFA World Cup, which the United States will co-host this summer. However, it remains unclear whether similar exemptions apply to the Champions Cup, which is organised by CONCACAF and features clubs from North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
