Things got a little awkward during a recent interview with Mathew Knowles - awkward enough for him to walk out mid-conversation after being asked about Tina Knowles and her role in shaping Destiny’s Child.
PIX11 anchor Kendis Gibson later revealed he was completely caught off guard by the exit, noting that no topics had been flagged as off-limits.
The moment came after Gibson mentioned Tina’s early contributions to the group, including styling their hair and designing their costumes for members Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams.
Knowles initially agreed about her role in shaping the group’s image but then suddenly stood up and ended the interview, saying, “We’ll stop now.” The clip did not appear in the original broadcast but leaked online days later.
Now, Knowles says he is “evaluating legal remedies” over the leak and insists his comments were never meant to diminish Tina. In fact, he says the two still share a “wonderful relationship,” and he refuses to call her his “ex-wife,” preferring the more respectful “former wife.”
