Veteran Reggae artiste Tony Rebel was honoured with the Wray & Nephew Cultural Impact Award at the Reggae Gold Awards ceremony held on Friday, at the National Arena, marking one of the signature closing events of Jamaica’s annual Reggae Month celebrations.

The award, now in its third year, forms part of Wray & Nephew’s longstanding partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, executed through the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission.

The Wray & Nephew Cultural Impact Award recognises individuals whose influence extends beyond music to shape Jamaica’s cultural identity, uplift communities, and strengthen the global reach and legacy of Reggae.

Tony Rebel was cited for his decades-long contribution as an artiste, cultural ambassador, mentor, and creator of platforms that support the development of conscious Reggae music.

In accepting the honour, the veteran performer expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting the significance of being celebrated by his own society.
