Four people were arrested after the JDF Coast Guard intercepted a vessel carrying over 2,000 pounds of ganja valued at about $45 million offshore Manchester.
The boat was spotted during routine patrols near Farquhar’s Beach in Clarendon and intercepted southwest of Long Bay Beach.
A search uncovered 38 knitted bags of marijuana along with several 200-gallon fuel drums.
The suspects and the drugs were handed over to the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division.
