Global music producer and DJ, DJ Khaled has been turning up promo for his upcoming album Aalaam of God in new interviews.
In a clip posted to Instagram this morning from a recent CBS interview, the executive music producer spoke about the significance of dancehall music to his craft, highlighting the album's recently released single You Remind Me, featuring once the once feuding Mavado and Vybz Kartel, as well as fellow heavyweights, Bounty Killer and Buju Banton, comparing the artistes to hip hop moguls JayZ and Tupac and the late reggae superstar Bob Marley.
Khaled also used the opportunity to highlight the ongoing crises in Jamaica caused by the recent passage of Hurricane Melissa and the devastation in the western region of the island. Khaled mentions the donation efforts he headed through his 'We The Best' foundation, alongside Bounty Killer's 'The Bounty Foundation'.
Also in the interview, the music mogul went on to give fans some insight on what to expect from Alaam of God, which he hints the work is still ongoing for, initially announced to drop in 2025 but now slated for a 2026 release date.
DJ Khaled is slated to appear at Mavado's homecoming concert this December in St Ann, of which he is the first supporting act announced, all other announcements having been paused in light of recent events. The full interview can be viewed on the Instagram of CBS as well as DJ Khaled's.
