Promoters of Sandz Music Festival have launched 'Together We'll Rise Again, brink By Brick'', a fundraising initiative in support of relief efforts for those affected by hurricane Melissa.
The stormed slammed into the island Tuesday as a category 5 hurricane, damaging buildings, homes and claiming numerous lives. In a post shared on social media, the entertainment brand says its it stands ready to support the people and communities affected by the storm.
It says donations in the form of cash or non-perishable food items, clothing and building material are welcome.
Sandz says the goal is to bring together, partners, friends and the wider community both locally and abroad to support those in need the most. Meantime, Promoter and businessman, Romeich Major has stepped in the assist communities affected.
His team began cutting downed trees, clearing debris and distributing care supplies to those affects.
Various other entertainment outfits have also launched relief initiatives. In a statement, Carnival brand Xodus, says they're in communication with the relevant authorities in western Jamaica and will be working with them to assess how they can best support urgent recovery and rebuilding efforts.
