Caribbean Stars Honoured at Caribbean Music Awards In New York!

The 3rd staging of Caribbean Music Awards unfolded last evening to recognize, honour and celebrate talented Caribbean individuals who have made meaningful contributions to Caribbean music and culture.

The ceremony took place at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York.

Some of the awardees included Kranium who copped the Caribbean R&B Artiste of the Year, Shenseea crowned Female Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Patrice Roberts named female Soca artiste of the year, Lady Lava copped female Steam-Zess Soca artiste of the year, & Bugle, Buju Banton and Junior Gong who won best reggae collab for "Thank You Lord".

The 2025 “Caribbean Music Awards” also saw performances by Elephant Man, Ding Dong and other surprise guests.

Honorees for the night included Busta Rhymes (Elite Icon Award), Bounty Killer (Lifetime Achievement Award), Carimi (Legacy Honours), Sizzla Youth Foundation (Humanitarian Honours), Shirley Ann Cyril-Mayers (Gospel Honours), Austin "Super Blue" Lyons (Calypso Honours), and Kerwin Du Bois (Producer Honours).

The Caribbean Music Awards will air on Friday, September 12 on BET.

This, after the Caribbean Elite Group announced a landmark media partnership with BET Media Group.
