Dancehall star Aidonia has issued an apology to his UK fan base after police were forced to shut down Sandz Caribbean Music Festival at Addington Park in Croydon on Sunday, August 17.
The 4th Genna boss, who was billed as the headliner alongside Elephant Man and Vanessa Bling, took to Instagram to express regret after chaos erupted when attendees began storming gates and pushing down fences to enter the venue.
He promised fans he'll return and make it up to them.
Meantime, organisers of the festival have expressed disappointment, but grateful that there were no major incidents and patrons exited safely.
In a statement, organisers noted that the unfortunate events which unfolded does "not reflect the brand built over the last 11 years as Jamaica’s largest entertainment export, and that they "remain committed to delivering safe, unforgettable experiences worldwide."
The highly anticipated performance marked Aidonia’s first UK appearance in 18 years, following the reinstatement of his visa earlier this summer. It was also Elephant's Man's return to the country after 16 years.
