The Zee recently brought the news that Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, had died at 48 after a battle with skin cancer.
It’s now clear the situation was more complex than previously known.
Clarkson and Blackstock were married for nine years, had two children together, and divorced in 2020 after a contentious split over finances.
Clarkson, reportedly “devastated” by his death, once broke down in tears while performing a song about her father and ex-husband.
The "Stronger" singer also cancelled Las Vegas shows during his illness, saying she needed to be “fully present” for their kids.
Blackstock’s obituary lists his “partner” as Brittney Jones, who had also worked as an assistant for both Clarkson and Blackstock, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Blackstock’s obituary reads "Brandon, along with his beautiful and loving partner in life and business, Brittney Marie Jones, started building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana,..."
Fans have been split in their views as the obituary doesn't mention Clarkson, however, it does mention their two kids and Blackstock's kids with his first wife.
