Reggae trailblazers Capleton, Beres Hammond & Leroy Sibbles were last evening, honoured with the Reggae Icon Award at the Jamaica 63 Independence Gala.
This, to the delight fans inside the national stadium in Kingston.
In his acceptance speech, the reggae firebrand Capleton offered encouraging words of resilience and national pride.
Meanwhile, Hammond expressed love for his homeland.
The annual Grand Gala was held, under the theme ‘Be Proud, Be Bold, in Black, Green and Gold’.
The celebration involved some 2,500 participants
The event was hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport through the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC).
