Reggae Sumfest 2025 Lights Up Montego Bay: Night Two Recap

Share

From dancehall dominance on Friday to reggae royalty on Saturday, Reggae Sumfest 2025 proved why it’s still The Greatest Reggae Show on Earth!
The vibes were sky-high, the talent was unmatched, and even though global icon Toni Braxton was the main highlight of the show, our very own talents/performers definitely showed out!
Fantan Mojah kicked things off with a flurry of hits before introducing the night’s surprise gem, a12-year-old force to be reckoned with, Emma. The young talent who wowed the crowd with her original song God Is Real.
Pressure Buss Pipe followed with a smooth, soulful set before I Wayne lit up the stage with conscious fire and crowd favourites like Living In Love and Book of Life. Though his set got cut short, his message landed loud and clear.
Bugle brought the energy with Nuh Compatible and an emotional tribute to his late mother with Pearly Gate. Lila Iké, stunning in iridescence, delivered flawless vocals on hits like Solitude and Second Chance, making her solo debut one to remember. Protoje, despite time limits, closed with style and substance.
While fans were hyped to see R&B icon Toni Braxton, her early set was plagued with sound issues. She pushed through with classics like He Wasn’t Man Enough and Breathe Again, but only truly connected near the end with a touching version of Unbreak My Heart.
Luckily, Tarrus “Singy Singy” Riley brought the night home with a blazing set packed with hits like She’s Royal, Superman, Likkle One Drop, and Good Girl Gone Bad. One of the night's sweetest moments? When he brought out his children, Tsehai “Pepsi” Riley on vocals and Mekiem on guitar, for a heart-melting cover of Human Nature. He ended on a high with tributes to reggae greats Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Cocoa Tea, and his late father, Jimmy Riley.
Sumfest 2025 made one thing crystal clear: Reggae is alive, evolving, and still the heartbeat of the island.
