Jamaicans have a hand in everything, and dance music is no exception. The island’s very own legendary model, actor and singer Grace Jones’s 1981 hit Pull Up To The Bumper, has earned a spot on Billboard's 100 Best Dance Songs of All Time list.
Grace Jones’s Pull Up To The Bumper joins the prestigious ranking at #82. The music data platform started releasing the list in groups of 20 yesterday and plans to finish with the top 20 best dance songs of all time this Friday. Other songs on the list so far include Bauuer’s 2012 Harlem Shake at #80 and Major Lazer’s 2009 Pon De Floor at #60.
Grace Jones has achieved trailblazer status in the fashion, film and music industries since her debut on the international entertainment scene as a model in the 1970's. The latest of her honours is by R&B/Pop sensation Beyonce with a feature on her 2022 dance music album Renaissance, on the song MOVE.
