A child was killed and a woman injured in a fire at a house on Beaston Street in Kingston yesterday. Police have identified him as 6-year old Davinee Smith.
Reports are that shortly after 5pm yesterday, fire was seen coming from a two-storey building which housed a shoe-shop and a dwelling.
The fire brigade was called and fire units from the York Park Half Way Tree and Trench Town fire stations responded.
Four adults and three children were left homeless as a result of the fire. The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
