The Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch seized approximately $5m worth of counterfeit goods after raiding a store along East Queen Street in Downtown Kingston at the weekend.

Noting that the store is in close proximity to two Police establishments, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Victor Barrett said he had previously observed that the store might be selling counterfeit goods.

Although the goods seized only amounted to an estimated $5m, Superintendent Barrett stated that the operation was in tandem with the Trademark Act and it is important that the Police enforce the law.
