484 murders were recorded up to Saturday May 8, 13 more than the 471 recorded the same period last year.
Meantime, shootings are up by 3.5 percent to 441, 15 more than last year’s 426.
On the other hand, there is a decrease in cases of rape, robbery and break-ins.
Rapes decreased by 41.2 per cent, down by 96, from 233 to 137.
There were 62 fewer cases of robbery down from 389 to 327.
This represents a decline of 15.9 per cent.
Meantime, break-ins decreased by 21.4 per cent, down by 82, from, 383 to 301.
