As of Friday, February 7, 2025, the Island Traffic Authority (ITA) reported that 37 individuals have lost their lives in 34 fatal crashes.
This represents a 12% decrease, or five fewer fatalities, compared to the same period in 2024. Additionally, fatal crashes have decreased by 13% year-over-year.
This includes 12 pedestrians, 10 motorcyclists, 5 private motor car drivers, 4 pillion passengers and 2 private motor car passengers
In 2024, Jamaica recorded 364 road fatalities, marking a 14% decrease from the 425 deaths in 2023.
This was the first time since 2018 that the annual death toll fell below 400.
