The 22nd annual BET Awards was held last night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angelesand served as a celebration of Black culture.

The show was hosted by Taraji P Henson for the second year in a row and saw performances from Lizzo, who opened the show. The show also saw performances from Lil’ Wayne, Latto, Jack Harlow, Babyface, Joey Badas$$, Chance the Rapper, Fireboy DML, just to name a few.

Silk Sonic took home the top award of the night, ‘Album of the year’, for ‘An Evening with Silk Sonic’, Jazmine Sullivan took home ‘Best female R&B/pop artis’t, while The Weeknd won ‘Best male R&B/pop artist. Latto won ‘Best new artist and Mary J. Blige received the BET Her Award for her song ‘Good Morning Gorgeous’.

Zendaya won the Best Actress Award, and ‘Black-ish’ actress Marsai Martin won the Young Star Award and Sean “Diddy” Combs received the lifetime achievement award.
