A man is dead following a motor vehicle accident along the PJ Patterson Highway, yesterday (Fri).

He has been identified as Oneil Henry of Wright Crescent, Kingston 20.

Reports are that about 2: 55 pm, Henry was driving a motor truck towards Old Harbour, when he came upon an area of smoke and slowed down.

Further reports are that a Toyota Vitz motor car, collided into the rear of Henry‘s vehicle.

It is alleged that Henry exited the vehicle to retrieve a ladder which fell during the collision and was hit by a passing Hyundai motorcar.

Henry taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The drivers of the other 2 vehicles were warned for prosecution.

Meanwhile, 49 year-old Ava Thelwell of Shortwood Drive, Kingston 8 is suspected to have committed suicide at Flat Bridge, Spanish Town in St. Catherine yesterday (Fri).

Reports from the Spanish Town Police are that about 2:20 p.m., Thelwell, who had been lingering around the bridge since 10:00 a.m., allegedly drove to the middle of the bridge, stopped and then drove her Suzuki Grand Vitara into the river.

She was assisted by divers and taken to the hospital, however, she was pronounced dead.

Investigations continue.
