The Health Ministry has revealed that 185,000 doses of Astrazeneca vaccines expired on Sunday and will be discarded.
The ministry was not able to get thousands more Jamaicans to get vaccinated to utilize the vaccines before expiration.
This is the second time Astrazenca vaccines have had to be dumped as there was not sufficient take up.
The government is being urged by some, including public health experts to implement vaccine mandates to prevent further discarding of vaccines.
Meantime, some 500,000 doses of vaccines are to arrive in the island this week.
