A high level probe has been launched into the police's response to calls for help from the mother of the children who were killed by their father in Trelawney this morning.
Kelly Ann Smith says she called the Wait-A-Bit Police, who directed that she call the Christiana Police as the station was closer to her home.
She called the station after her common-law husband Kenville Mullings held a machete to her throat and threatened her and the 2 young children.
Ms Smith claims that she was told she had to make the report in person.
Ms Smith and 2 others began walking to the police station and while en route, received a call that her children had been killed and their father had committed suicide.
