It was an evening of mixed emotions at the launch party of Spice’s Captured Mixtape.
The dancehall artiste held an event in support of her 19-track project which took top spot on the iTunes reggae albums charts upon release.
Spice performed a number of songs from the mixtape, to include the attention-grabbing ‘Black Hypocrisy’ single. However, it was the title track “Captured”, that brought her to tears on stage.
She was later comforted by her dancers and team members.
‘Captured” speaks to her delicate situation with VP Records, having been signed to the label for some 10 years with no album in sight.
The Zee spoke with the entertainer soon after where she explains further.
Spice also says heavy promotion has already started, in an effort to build awareness of the Captured Mixtape.
Meanwhile, at the launch Spice fielded questions from the media about the impact of the ‘Black Hypocrisy’ single, featured on the Captured project.
