Minister of Gender Olivia Grange, has condemned the spate of violent attacks against our women and children.
Speaking in the parliament this afternoon, Ms. Grange says while acknowledging a decline in the number of children and women killed this year over last year, she remains concerned about the acts of violence being committed in our country.
The Minister also said the Government has a critical role to play to prevent and to end violence against women and children. Ms Grange says her ministry has been playing its part to tackle this issue as part of the whole of government approach to these horrendous crimes.
She says through the Bureau of Gender Affairs, the Ministry has developed and championed the National Strategic Action Plan for the Elimination of Gender-based Violence and has begun to implement this 10-year plan that presents an action-focused approach across all of government to eliminating all gender-based violence.
