Veteran Dancehall deejay, Ninjaman, continues to do his charitable work for his community, even from behind bars.

A rep for the incarcerated dancehall artiste has confirmed that the Ninjaman Foundation will be staging a charity event dubbed Jamboree at Hyde Park Road, Kingston 11 on August 17.

A number of dancehall acts including Beenie Man, Tommy Lee Sparta, Bounty Killer, Sizzla, Ding Dong, Capleton, Busy Signal, and more are expected to turn out for the event.

Ninjaman was sentenced to life in prison for the March 2009 murder of Ricardo Johnson who was shot and killed at a house in Marl Road, Kingston 13.

Johnson, who was known in the community as “Ricky Trooper”, was reportedly gunned down by Ninjaman, his son Jameil, and another man, over a domestic dispute.

The legal team for Ninja, whose real name is Desmond Ballentine, says they will be appealing the conviction.
